The Middle Ages were very much based on a society of separate classes. During that time it had to do with both birth and wealth, and there was little opportunity to move up in the class system. Do you believe our society today still has a great disparity in its citizens being separated in classes or not? If so, what factors determine modern day "classes"? Is there less or greater opportunity to rise from a lower class to a higher class and what are those opportunities? Do you think large numbers of people are successful in doing so? If you believe there is little opportunity to move up in the class system, give your reasons for your opinion?
