Marissa is baking chocolate chip cookies. She has a total of 7 1/3 cups of chocolate chips. If each batch of cookies uses 2/3 of a cup of chocolate chips enter the greatest number of batches of cookies she can bake

Respuesta :

Hi I’m not EXACTLY sure if this is right but I think it’s 11 batches?

Since 2/3 cup of chocolate chips = 1 batch

So 1/3 would = .5 (half a batch)

7 1/3 into a an improper fraction (just so it’s easier) = 22/3

In order to make 1/3 be 22/3 you would have to multiply 22 by 1/3

So you multiply 1/3 x 22 = 22/3

And you also multiply .5 x 22 = 11

So 22/3 (aka 7 1/3) serves 11 batches.

Not sure if this is right but the method I’m using is called the unitary method.
