In capitalism, most businesses have a profit motive. Describe at least one reason that businesses with a profit motive may be helpful for society and at least one reason that they may be harmful for society. Then, explain whether you think profit motive is a good thing or a bad thing for society

Profit motive creates competition, thus only good quality goods survive. However it produces what is most profitable amd not what is most needed.
I think profit motive is a good for society because it responds because as mentioned before it creates competition and it also creates intencive for new products to be produced.and there is also development of technology to allow quicker and cheaper production of goods.
