16=5x-9
*do the inverse of subtracting 9 (add 9 on both sides of the equation)*
25=5x
*isolate the x by ÷5 both sides of the equation*

Look at the difference. 5 · 1? No. 5·2? No. It makes 1 when you subtract it with 9. So, let's skip up to 25. Wait. You're finding the answer. 25 - 9 = 16, so 25 is the answer!
