(SAT Prep) The perimeter of pentagon ABCDE is 30 in, AB = 7 in, BC = CD = 6 in, DE = 5 in. How many sides of the pentagon have equal length?

A pentagon has 5 sides. (Penta means 5).
You do not know AE. So solve it first.AB + BC + CD + DE + EA = 30

AB = 7
BC = 6
CD = 6
DE = 5
EA = ???

7 + 6 + 6 + 5 + EA = 30
24 + EA = 30
EA = 6

So three of the sides are equal.
